American Soldier

Ty was asked to do a report about an American Hero. The teacher said someone that has made a difference in America for you like: President, Teacher, Congress, Soldier, etc.

Ty said right a way he wanted to do it on his Uncle (my brother) Staff Sergeant Todd J. Barlow.
He said "Mom Todd has been serving our country and protecting us for over 5 years, He is a Hero to me".

Ty wrote down some questions and called his uncle. Ty and I really enjoyed listening to Todd and some of the experiences he has gone through.

We got the report back about a month ago and Ty got an A on it. We cannot post the 6 pictures he used due to security reason.

We thought it might be nice to let you read it.

American Soldier

I am doing my report on my uncle Todd J. Barlow. He was born on March 15, 1982 in Provo, Utah. When he was growing up he always had respect and love for our country. So when he was 20 years old he decided to join the Air Force. He has been in the Air Force for 6 1/2 years. The places he has served in are the countries of South Korea, UAE, Iraq, and Kuwait.
In the Air Force he has been based in Hawaii and California. He trained in Texas and New Mexico. When he was in Iraq he could only shower for 4 min. He slept in a cot. He was never in direct danger but if somebody got hurt he would help them. His duties now are operation support, training, and flight chief. He is known as E.5 Staff Sergeant Todd J. Barlow.
When on his base does security forces, police duties, and off base infantry of the air force. When he was in South Korea he was the Elite Hand picked Head Gate guard. This is a story that he told me when he was in South Korea. There was a guy that had been getting onto the base for three weeks. My uncle had just got back from vacation. His first night back the guy tried to come on base. His ID and picture did not match. My uncle questioned him and found out that he was in South Korea illegally from China. They were very grateful that my uncle had caught him. Later that week they sent him back to China. If it wasn’t for Todd he wouldn’t had ever gotten caught. That is my report about my uncle Todd J. Barlow.
I chose to do my report on my Uncle Todd because I think he is a great example to me. He is a good man. He has given many hours of service to our country to protect us. I feel he his helping to make a difference in our country and other countries.
